Feburary- current 2024

I take the concept of eros by Freudian psychology as a premise of my work. I see Eros, distinct from mere sexual drive, as portrayed as our fundamental life force, and questions the enduring symbolism in Adam and Eve, both encompassing desire and innocence. In my work, Adam and Eve refuse to be mere subjects of the system, defiantly rejecting the command to conform. They live unencumbered, and naked weaving a dreamy narrative without constraints.

Unseen Possibilities

I left for Paris. Being in an art-market-oriented school, I rebelled against the idea of anticipating an artist's career solely based on data analysis. The black swan theory suggests that a mere one percent possibility can yield enormous outcomes when manifested in reality.

Sassy girl

The work I produced in 2022 reflects a hedonistic sensibility. Immersing myself in contemporary romantic novels, living with American roommates from Pratt between 2017 and 2019, and exploring my sexuality in my late twenties in Brooklyn have all contributed to shaping my romantic perspective on relationships.

Tale of Actaeon and Diana

I love imagining stories and fragments from my memory, events, and beliefs. In my new series “Tale of Actaeon and Diana”, elements such as interiors and architectural forms serve as a kind of a stage for the figures, rendering nostalgia to make a picturesque (habitat) and allowing a feeling of voyeurism. In these new paintings the choice of interior spaces is inspired by my Brooklyn homes where I lived without the proximity of a family. I explore the spectrum of feminine psych through observing Japanese manga, mythologies, and my own experience with the world.
